Postpartum massage is important for recovery after giving birth, both physically and mentally. It provides pain relief in addition to promoting hormone equilibrium. A massage can be performed as early as 5 days after delivery, only if there were no complications during delivery.
It takes approximately 6 weeks after giving birth for the uterus to return to its normal size (before pregnancy). For this reason, only Postnatal massages should be performed during this period. Our trained licensed massage therapists take all necessary precautions, including proper positioning and modified abdominal bodywork.
If there were complications during delivery such as postpartum bleeding, check with your doctor prior to booking an appointment. You might need to wait 4 to 6 weeks before being cleared by your doctor to receive a massage.
